Given a combined experience of 150+ years in development, construction and management, our team has created over 20 “Built for Rent Communities” adding much needed housing to the U.S. housing stock. Built for Rent is the fastest growing asset class in the U.S.

Our “Easy Living” Brand
We created the River Rock, An Easy Living Community brand to address the shortage of 55+ housing by providing exceptional rental options that prioritize accessibility and social connection, empowering residents to thrive in their later years. Through innovative design, personalized services and a focus on community engagement, we strive to enhance the quality of life for older adults while fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.


Our “Why”
Our journey began over a decade ago, with aging grandparents who lived in residential homes that no longer suited their stage of life – not ready for assisted living but overwhelmed with the care of a multi-story home. Limited options were available in their home state of Ohio, so we turned our sights to our state of North Carolina. The results were parallel. We found in sharing our story, others were facing the same challenges with aging family members.
Diving into some research, we discovered that the problem is compounding with a coined phrase of “Silver Tsunami” whereby the number of Americans aged 65 and older is projected to increase from 58 million in 2022 to 82 million by 2050. From firsthand experience, we know that America does not have the housing to support 24 more million Americans in this age group.

Out of this personal challenge and accompanied by the supporting data, the inspiration was sparked for our Easy Living Communities. The framework for our thoughtfully designed communities and homes was charted by the needs of our own aging parents and grandparents. Our passion for building and developing at River Rock was met with a unique opportunity to service the growing active adult demographic.
