Brad Thomas
Vice President of Construction
Professional Background:
Brad has dedicated his career to the construction industry, beginning as a construction superintendent in the early 1990s. With over 30 years of experience, he has been directly responsible for completing more than 3,000,000 square feet of development across the country. His expertise spans a diverse range of projects, including Class A office buildings, multi-family housing, medical and hospitality facilities, retail power centers, lifestyle centers, and industrial warehouses. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with city, county, and state officials, navigating the unique challenges of each municipality to deliver successful projects.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University, where he studied Architectural Design, Economic Land Planning, and Development. Raised by parents in higher education, he approaches each day as a learning experience, believing that both successes and challenges provide valuable lessons that contribute to long-term growth and refinement.
What He Does at River Rock:
As Vice President of Construction, Brad works closely with the development team to guide River Rock’s real estate projects from groundbreaking to completion. Drawing on his extensive field experience, he collaborates with design and construction teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. He is passionate about fostering a culture of continuous learning within the company, recognizing that as River Rock grows, refining processes and adapting to industry changes are essential for long-term success.
What Drives Brad:
Brad is deeply invested in the future of the construction industry and recognizes the ongoing shift as experienced professionals retire and fewer young Americans enter the skilled trades. He believes in the importance of mentorship, ensuring that knowledge is passed down to the next generation to sustain the industry’s progress despite a shrinking workforce. The opportunity to contribute to River Rock’s dynamic and rapidly growing organization is both exciting and rewarding, reinforcing his passion for the field.
Beyond Work:
Outside of work, Brad enjoys traveling—both to new destinations and to reconnect with colleagues and friends from his years as a traveling superintendent. His greatest passion, however, is breeding and raising racehorses. He actively owns and races quarter horses in Colorado and Oklahoma, as well as thoroughbreds in Kentucky.
